My parents in New Orleans, circa 1959

My parents were self-taught artists. To earn a living, they set up their gallery along the streets of the French Quarter painting caricature portraits of anyone who would sit for them, including tourists, people from the neighborhood and the arts. Their open air gallery was their studio/office. Their dedication to their work inspired me to pursue a career as a photographer.
